Posa que te posa, así de «modelos» nos sentimos todas las bloggers que asistimos al #PenDay de Olympus en Casanova Foto Barcelona. Invitadas por la anfitriona Patricia Sañes de Coolhunterdiary, íbamos a conocer la que sin duda será la cámara de fotos más it: #MyPenCamera. ¡Fue una tarde divertidísima! Aprendimos, reímos, merendamos, posamos y posamos y volvimos a posar delante del objetivo de una Olympus Pen Camera y detrás de la atenta mirada del prestigioso fotógrafo de moda Luis Malibrán. Toda una experiencia.

Posing and posing, as «models» we felt all the bloggers who attended the Olympus #PenDay at Casanova Foto Barcelona. Invited by the host Patricia Sañes of Coolhunterdiary, we were going to meet the camera that will definitely be the most it one: #MyPenCamera. It was a very funny evening! We learned, we laughed, we had a snack, we posed and posed and returned to pose in front of the objective of an Olympus Pen Camera and behind the watchful eye of the renowned fashion photographer Luis Malibrán. Quite an experience.

Patricia primero realizó un interesante recorrido por los mejores fotógrafos de moda y nos explicó cómo se pasó de las curvas de las top model de los 90 a una andrógina Kate Moss con estética underground. Nos mostró sus fotografías preferidas de Horst P. Horst, considerado el primer fotógrafo en retratar moda; de Richard Avedon al que le gustaba retratar el movimiento; de Patrick Demarchelier que despunta retratando momentos íntimos; de Annie Leibovitz, la fotógrafa mejor pagada del mundo; de Mario Testino que adora la riqueza cromática y que huye de la perfección; de Juergen Teller que convierte lo feo en cool; de su favorito, Tim Walker, por tener una puesta en escena impresionante; hasta llegar a la fotografía de hoy en día con Bill Cunningham, el pionero en fotografiar streetstyle para su columna «On the street» del New York Times; y Scott Schuman, el primero en profesionalizar el blog de moda con «The Sartorialist» (fotos por orden).

Patricia first made an interesting tour of the best fashion photographers and explained how they went from the curves of the 90s top models to an androgynous Kate Moss with underground aesthetics. She showed us her favorite photographs of Horst P. Horst, considered the first fashion photographer to portray; Richard Avedon who liked to portray movement; Patrick Demarchelier who excels portraying intimate moments; Annie Leibovitz, the highest paid photographer in the world; Mario Testino who loves rich colors and fleeing perfection; Juergen Teller who turns ugly into cool; her favorite, Tim Walker, who has a very impressive scene; up to photography today with Bill Cunningham, a pioneer in photographing streetstyle for his «On the Street» New York Times column; and Scott Schuman, the first to professionalize the fashion blog with his «The Sartorialist» (photos by order).

Más tarde, Patricia nos dio algunos tips para posar frente a la cámara: posar con naturalidad, intentar sonreír siempre (o en su defecto apretar los dientes), asegurarse que los ojos miran a cámara, colocar el mentón sutilmente para abajo y las piernas de lado manteniendo el tronco de frente ya que estiliza, y utilizar gafas de sol si te acabas de levantar y te toca shooting ;)

Finalmente, Luis Malibrán fue el encargado de explicarnos todas las prestaciones de #MyPenCamera para después demostrarlas retratándonos con ella. ¡Veréis qué fotos más chulas nos hizo! (¡¡¡Gracias Luis por la paciencia!!!)

Later, Patricia gave us some tips on how to pose in front of the camera: pose naturally, always try to smile (or alternatively clench teeth), make sure the eyes look to the camera, gently place the chin downwards and place the legs turned on one side whilst holding the body frontly because it seems you’re slimmer, and wear sunglasses if you just woke up and have a shooting ;)

Finally, Luis Malibrán was the one who explained all the features of #MyPenCamera to afterwards show them during the shooting. You’ll see the cool photos he took! (Thanks Luis for the patience!!!)

¿Y nuestra opinión sobre la cámara? Muy recomendable. Y diréis: «Sí claro, qué van a decir…». Pues de verdad que nos sorprendió por distintos motivos. En primer lugar nos encantó el diseño que tiene así en estética vintage. Encima pesa MUY poco, es realmente sencilla de utilizar, dispara en RAW (alta resolución) con lo que se consigue una elevada calidad, pero lo que nos convenció del todo fue que:

1. Incorpora funciones de filtros (a lo Instagram o Afterlight), con lo que puedes ver en el visor exactamente cómo va a quedar la foto mientras le aplicas distintos filtros.
2. Tiene un visor que rota de tal forma que permite hacer selfies con gran facilidad.
3. Permite realizar time-lapse pero con una calidad altísima.
4. Se conecta vía wifi con el móvil a través de una app, con lo que tienes todas tus fotos en cuestión de segundos en tu camera roll listas para usar ;)

And our opinion about the camera? We highly recommended. And you will say: «Yeah sure, what will they say…». Well it really surprised us for different reasons. First we loved the vintage design it has. It weighs VERY little, it’s really simple to use, you shoot in RAW (high resolution) whereby high quality is achieved, but what convinced us of all was that:

1. It incorporates features of filters (as Instagram or Afterlight), which you can see in the viewer exactly how the photo will look like when you apply different filters.
2. It has a viewer that rotates so that it allows doing selfies easily.
3. It enables doing time-lapse but with high quality.
4. It connects wirelessly to the mobile phone via an app, so you have all your photos in seconds in your camera roll ready to use ;)
