Good news! Confirmado: Palo Alto Market reabre sus puertas este fin de semana, 3 y 4 de enero :) Os aseguramos que vale la pena ir a descubrir el nuevo mercado callejero y sofisticado, pasear por sus paraditas, contagiarse del buen ambientillo que hay, escuchar música, comer, mirar y remirar, y todavía más si los Reyes Magos todavía están indecisos… (ssshhht nosotras no os hemos chivado que hay cosas chulísimas eh, guardad el secreto jijiji).

Nuestra compi Ana Fernández, junto con su socia Poppy Grijalbo, nos invitó a pasar una mañana de lo más auténtica en este nuevo mercadillo que será sin duda el Portobello de Nothing Hill en Barcelona. Más de 7.000 personas no quisieron perderse la inauguración el pasado 6 de diciembre, ¡y yo tampoco! Así que allí que fui, a esta isla urbana con paisaje espectacular donde el talento y la sensibilidad se mezlcan, y disfruté con los 5 sentidos. Así que hoy os cuento lo que más me gustó, ¡por si os animáis a ir este finde!

Good news! Confirmed: Palo Alto Market reopens this weekend, January 3rd and 4th :) We assure you that it’s worth discoverintg the new and sophisticated street market, stroll along its stands, feeling the good vibes there, listening to music, eating, looking and looking again, and even more if the Three Kings are still undecided… (ssshhht don’t tell anyone we have told you there are very cool things eh, keep the secret LOL).

Our colleague Ana Fernández, along with her partner Poppy Grijalbo, invited us to spend a morning in this authentic new market that will undoubtedly be the Portobello’s Notting Hill in Barcelona. More than 7,000 people didn’t want to miss the opening last December 6th, and me neither! So there I was, in this urban island with spectacular landscape where talent and sensitivity mmix, and enjoying it with the 5 senses. So today I will tell you what I liked most, just in case you want to go this weekend!

Paseando por Palm Street,  si sois amantes de los vinilos, en la paradita de Marcelo encontraréis lo que buscáis, y a su vez éste compartía espacio con Almendra Clothing, donde Paz (¡nos encantó el estilo de esta chica!) vendía ropa vintage de mujer, súper recomendable. También había paradas de ropa vintage tipo camisas hawaianas, surferas, gabardinas, bisutería… y todo a rebosar de buen rollito.

Walking through Palm Street, if you are lovers of vinyl, in Marcelo’s stand you will find what you seek, and in turn he shares space with Almendra Clothing, where Paz (we loved the style of this girl!) is selling vintage women’s clothing super recommended. There was also all kind of vintage clothing stands with Hawaiian shirts, surfer, coats, jewelry… and everything overflowing with good vibes.

Otro de los grandes descubrimientos fue Claudia de Meublé Barcelona, no sólo por los muebles y objetos de decoración que vimos en su parada, si no también por algunas prendas vintage que diseña ella misma, ¡me quedé in love de esta pamela bordada!

Another major discovery was Claudia from Meublé Barcelona, not only for the furniture and decorative items we saw in her stand, but also because of some vintage garments designed by herself, I fell in love with this embroidered pamela!

Por no hablar de nuestras amigas de L’Arca de L’Àvia (ya os habíamos hablado de ellas aquí) con sus vestidos de novia, kimonos, sombreros, bolsitos, pajaritas… Enamora lo que tienen, eso sí, todo 100% vintage.

Not to mention our friends from L’Arca de L’Àvia (we had already told you about them here) with their wedding dresses, kimonos, hats, purses, bows… You will love everything they have, yes, all 100% vintage.

Y delante, la florista Mireia Abràs, de 10. Tiene un don. Si os gustan los centros florales, las coronitas de flores, o las flores en general, id a verla.

And in front, the florist Mireia Abras, a 10. She has a gift. If you like flowerbeds and hairwreaths, or flowers in general, go to see her.

Para los apasionados de la fotografía, en La Mary Posa hay de todo. Y además, nos sorprendió mucho también en Palm Street, cómo podías hacerte un retrato ¡con una máquina de retratar antigua! Había bastante cola y me quedé con las ganas pero en cuanto vuelva será lo primero que haré :)

For the photography enthusiasts, at La Mary Posa they have everything. And besides, we were amazed also at Palm Street, how you could take a portrait with an old machine to portray! There was quite a queue and I kept wanting one but when I go again it’ll be the first thing I’ll do :)

Otra de las actividades curiosas del market es poder cortarte el pelo en una barbería vintage callejera! Así que si necesitas un new hair cut, ya sabes, gracias a Anthony Llobet English Hair Salons puedes.

Another curious market activity is to cut your hair in a vintage street barber! So if you need a new hair cut, you know, thanks to Anthony Llobet English Hair Salons you can.

En la Welcome Plaza, varias paradas pensadas para los más deportistas, con marcas de motos, esquí, las bicis de Bamboo Bikes Barcelona… También firmas de surf como Two Thirds, las gafas de sol Uniqbrow y las alpargatas Paez (de las que os hablamos aquí, aquí y aquí, respectivamente); encontramos Macho Beard Company, con sus productos naturales para el cuidado de la barba y el bigote. Ahora que está tan de moda el rollo barba hipster, nos pareció un puntazo.

In the Welcome Plaza, several stands thought for  the sporty and adventure ones, with brands of motorcycles, skiing, bikes from Bamboo Bikes Barcelona… Also firms as the surf Two Thirds, the Uniqbrow sunglasses and Paez espadrilles (we spoke about the three here, here and here, respectively); we found Macho Beard Company, with its natural care products for the beard and the mustache. Now that the hipster beard is so trendy, we thought it was cool.

Nuestra zona preferida fue Bugambilla Street, precioso paisaje, y al final de todo, ¡¡¡por favor no os perdáis la música en directo del Piano Bar!!!

Our favorite area was Bugambilla Street, beautiful scenery, and at the end, please do not miss the live music in the Piano Bar!!!

En esa misma calle nos encontramos con los monísimos Don Fisher, que realizan llaveros, neceseres, bolsas, con forma de peces. ¡Un regalo muy original!

In that same street we found the lovely Don Fisher, who make keychains, toiletry bags, bags, shaped like fish.A very original gift!

Al entrar en el área de los artistas en sus estudios, la verdad es que nosotras no somos expertas en decoración ni diseño, pero os aseguro que no tienen desperdicio los diferentes cactus, sobre todo el de color azul Klein.

When entering the area of the artists in their studios, the truth is that we are not experts in decoration and design, but I assure you that you can’t miss the cactus, above all the Klein blue one.

En Huerto Street, encontramos acceso a los pabellones Art Gallery, con talleres de manualidades; una zona exclusiva para talleres infantiles -sí, puedes ir en familia-; al Espai Black y al Espai Blanc. Antes nos topamos con una parada de tejidos originales del S. XIX , puro amor para la casa.

In Huerto Street, we find the access to the pavilions Art Gallery, with craft workshops; an exclusive area for children’s workshops -yes, you can go with your family-; the Espai Black and the Espai Blanc. Before, we came to an original stand with XIX Century fabrics, pure love for the house.

Dentro del Espai Black, muchísimas cosas más. A destacar, las joyas minimalistas y geométricas de Alba Casares, y los auténticos Soft Heads de Sergio Roger que están triunfando allá dónde van :)

Inside the Espai Black, a lot of things more. Remarkable, the minimalist and geometric Alba Casares jewelry, and the authentic Soft Heads of Sergio Roger who are succeeding beyond where they go :)

Al lado del Espai Black, se encuentra un pabellón con todo tipo de objetos y decoración vintage, nos gustó encontrarnos el típico teléfono de nuestra abuela en el que habías de poner el dedo y dar vueltas, y nos encantó el diseño que respira esta estantería repleta de Tomato Soup de Campbell.

Beside the Espai Black, there is a pavilion with all kinds of objects and vintage decor, we liked to find the typical telephone of our grandmother in which you had to put your finger and spin, and we loved the design that breathes this shelf full of Campbell’s Tomato Soup.

En el Espai Blanc, más cuco y pequeño que el Black, nos encantó reencontrarnos con Eliurpí, marca de la que las colgadas somos muy fans (lucimos sus looks anteriormente aquí). Hacen sombreros, coronas de flores y ropa de época tan mona como esta.

In the Espai Blanc, more cute and smaller than the Black, we loved to rediscover Eliurpí, a brand which the hanging are big fans of (we wore their looks before here). They make hats, hairwreaths and period garments as cute as these.

Y de nuevo en el jardín, la zona de Música con DJ en directo y la calle de Street Food. Tienes de todo, pizza, hamburguesas, sandwitchs, pero ya sabéis mi debilidad por el sushi y las crepes, así que, rara combinación, pescado crudo de primero y nutella de postre, pero comí la mar de a gusto :)

And once you get back to the garden, the area of live music with DJ and the Food Street. You have everything, pizza, hamburgers, sandwichs, but you know my weakness for sushi and crepes, so a rare combination, raw fish first and nutella for dessert, but I ate so good :)

Así que recomendación de las 15 colgadas: Palo Alto Market reabrirá sus puertas el primer fin de semana de cada mes :) ¡Este 3 y 4 de enero os esperan de 11h a 20h en C/Pellaires 30-38 de Barcelona!
