Drassanes Reials fue el precioso enclave escogido para acoger la #080bcnfashion, y las «colgadas», que ya sabéis que no nos perdemos ni una, allí estuvimos dando tumbos de babor a estribor, se avecinase tormenta, hubiese viento, lluvia ¡o incluso nieve!

Y después de llegar sanas y salvas a tierra, aquí estamos para contaros de primera mano lo que más nos gustó de este avance FW 15/16. Esta edición la definiríamos como la de las sorpresas. Sorpresas porque hicimos descubrimientos de colecciones que nos dejaron boquiabiertas, pero también tuvimos algún que otro chasco. Siempre hay piratas en el mar…

Drassanes Reials was the beautiful setting chosen to host the #080bcnfashion, and the «hanging», as you already know that we do not miss one, there we were stumbling from port to starboard, was there storm, wind, rain or snow!

And after arriving safely in land, we are here to tell you from first hand what we liked most about this FW 15/16 advance. We would define this edition as the one of surprises. Surprises because we discovered collections that left us speechless, but we also had odd disappointments. There are always pirates at the sea…

La GRAN sorpresa fue descubrir la colección de Manuel Bolaño: simplemente WOW. La grata sorpresa fue volver a charlar con Pep Generó de Yerse. Muy fans. La sorpresa que agradecemos desde aquí a Equipo Singular fue no pasar frío (atrás queda la mala experiencia del CC El Born). Y el sorpresón, Andrés Velencoso, con quién topamos en el backstage, que fue para nosotras cual sirena para marineros ;)

Pero la gran ausencia fue sin duda el que creíamos iba a ser el merecidísimo homenaje a Sita, que simplemente no tuvo lugar. Su colección, esta vez, no fue tan sweet como las de antaño. TCN estuvo mejor que otras veces, pero les falta arriesgar un pelín. Mango, sin poder asistir otro año más. ¿Qué os hemos hecho? Nos encantáis pero nunca podemos sacaros aquí y es una pena. Y Custo, que despierta mucha expectación mediática, demasiado lleno de nuevo, y no lo decimos por estar apretadas, -que donde caben 2 caben 3-, si no por los pobres que por no ser celebrities y después de casi una hora de cola se quedaron a las puertas.

The BIG surprise was Manuel Bolaño’s collection: just WOW. The pleasant surprise was to chat again with Pep Generó of Yerse. We are very fans. The surprise that we want to thank you Equipo Singular from here was not to be cold (forgotten is the bad experience of CC El Born). And the super surprise, Andrés Velencoso, whith whom we stumbled at backstage, was for us as a siren for sailors ;)

But the great absence was undoubtedly what we thought would be the deserved tribute to Sita, which simply did not occur. Her collection, this time, was not as sweet as those of before. TCN was better than other times, but they lack risking a bit. Mango, we were unable to attend another year. What have we done to you? We love you but we can never post you here and it’s a shame. And Custo, which attracts much media, too full again, and it is not a problem of being tight, -when 2 fit 3 fit-, but for the poor that for not being celebrities and after nearly an hour of cue they were left at the gates.

Desfile Manuel Bolaño "Palomo Cojo" - 04.02.15 16:00h

Este joven diseñador catalán-gallego nos eclipsa con el  primer look del desfile: espectacular. La mezcla de estampados florales, las transparencias, sus vestidos vaporosos, estos pañuelos que le dan el toque chic a estas palomas cojas, perdidas, marginadas. «Palomas», a las que algunas les tapa la cara con encajes, a otras las maquilla salvajes. Quizá porque tuvimos la suerte de verlo todo desde front row, pero nos quedamos enamoradas de estas Divas del este, que están marginadas por la sociedad, perdidas en mundos de seda y de cartón, buscando aquí, buscando allá… No nos extraña que la sensibilidad de Manuel Bolaño por la moda haya sido premiada en dos ocasiones: Premio a la Mejor Colección femenina en con “ Algo de mí “ y “Cómo reparar un corazón roto”. ¡Felicidades! ¡Nos encantó!

This young Catalan-Galician designer overshadows us with the first look of his Fashion Show: spectacular. The mix of floral prints, transparencies, his sheer dresses, these scarfs that give the chic touch to these lame, lost, marginalized gimp pigeons. «Gimp Pigeons», to which some of them he covers their faces with lace, and other with wild make up. Maybe because we were lucky enough to see everything from front row, but we were in love with these Divas from the east, who are marginalized by society, lost in worlds of silk and paper, searching hither and yon… No wonder that the sensitivity of Manuel Bolaño for fashion has been awarded twice: Award for Best Female Collection in «Algo de mí» and «Cómo reparar un corazón roto». Congratulations! We loved it!

Desfile Yerse "The Beauty Surrounds" - 04.02.15 14:00h

Nos sentimos muy identificadas con el casual chic que nos propone Yerse con sus prendas de punto como protagonistas. Es su actitud, es aquello imperceptible, sin inventar nada espectacular llegan al alma, a la belleza. Fuimos partícipes de cómo preparaban a Clara Alonso y Alba Galocha, entre otras modelos, minutos antes del desfile. Son los pequeños detalles. Y como trabajan los tejidos naturales. Como transportan la naturaleza en sus outfits: frutos del bosque, flores de invierno, paisajes de lanas vírgenes, rojos tierra, azules malva y verdes jade que te resguardan del frío en el ambiente urbano. Todo con un toque juvenil y sin grandes pretensiones. Son prendas que se inspiran en la belleza que cada mujer dibuja a su alrededor para dar forma a su propio bienestar. Las colgadas somos chicas Yerse. Cómo también lo es la modelo Judit Mascó, que no dudó en dar apoyo a la marca, liderada por Pep Generó, al cual mandamos un afectuoso saludo desde aquí porque siempre nos trata súper bien :)

We feel very identified with Yerse’s casual chic with their knitwear as the star. It is its attitude, is something imperceptible, without inventing anything spectacular they reach the soul, beauty. We were watching how they prepared Clara Alonso and Alba Galocha, amongst other models, minutes before the Fashion Show. It’s all about small details. And as they work natural fabrics. How nature is transported into their outfits: wild berries, winter flowers, virgin wool landscapes, red earth, mauve blues and jade greens that protect you from the cold in the urban environment. All with a youthful touch and unpretentious. Their garments are inspired on the beauty that every woman draws around her to create her own well being. We, the hanging, are Yerse girls. The same as Judit Mascó who is so too, she didn’t hesitate to support the brand, led by Pep Generó, to whom we send greetings from here because he always treats us really well :)

Desfile Menchén Tomàs "Pasiones" - 04.02.15 19:00h

Del comfy a la sofisticación. Olga y Francesc se inspiran en la obra del artista Bill Viola para retratar fielmente las pasiones. Es bestial cómo consiguen combinar colores, texturas y formas opuestas para expresar emociones. Colores ocres, grises, azules fríos, el blanco contra el negro… Su contraste de colores en escena, brutal. Terciopelos de seda, paños de lana o mohairs contrastan con la muselina estampada con motivos de naturalezas muertas. Rigidez contra vaporosidad. Elegancia. Reviven a los guantes, qué femeninos son. Y esos bolsos de pelo, ¡quién tuviese uno! Una lástima que los stilettos glitter no nos convencieran en absoluto. Aún así, enhorabuena por el gran trabajo.

From comfy to sophistication. Olga and Francesc are inspired by the work of artist Bill Viola who faithfully portrays the passions. It is great how they manage to combine colors, textures and opposing forms to express emotions. Ocher, grey, cool blue, white against black… The color contrast in scene, brutal. Silk velvets, woolen cloth or mohair contrast with muslin printed with still life motifs. Stiffness against sheerness. Elegance. They bring back the gloves, which are so feminine. And those fur bags, who had one! A pity that the glitter stilettos didn’t convince us at all. Still, congratulations for the great work.

Desfile Miriam Ponsa "L'Exili" - 03.02.15 16:00h

La demostración de que lo sobrio también puede ser moda. La demostración de que en épocas escasas también se puede inventar. En esta colección, -inspirada en el gélido invierno de 1939 cuando más de 470.000 personas llegaron a Francia empujados por el avance de las tropas franquistas-, predominan los colores apagados evocando melancolía y sufrimiento. Miriam Ponsa suele dar vida a materiales, investiga, innova. En «L’Exili» la investigación con látex sobre lana tiene un papel relevante ya que permite conseguir el aspecto de usado. Formas oversize, volúmenes exagerados, superposición de capas que recuerda las mantas que llevaban durante el viaje; y hasta se incorpora la identificación que llevaban los niños exiliados. En la pasarela, tanto Jon Kortajarena -al que nos encontramos en backstage– como el resto de modelos y atrezzo, te transportaban a esa época.

A pesar de que su colección «Dones mula» (os hablamos de ella aquí), que fue premiada por la Generalitat de Catalunya como mejor colección de la 080 PV 15, nos gustó quizá todavía más, «L’Exili» también nos ha impactado y bastante. Tienes algo distinto Miriam, adelante y sin miedo.

The demonstration that sober can also be fashion. The demonstration that in rare times you can also invent. In this collection, -inspired in the ice cold winter of 1939, when more than 470,000 people crossed the border into France, pushed by the advance of Franco’s troops-, muted colors predominate evoking melancholy and suffering. Although we perhaps liked even more her «Dones mula» collection (we talked about here), which was awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya as best collection of 080 SS 15, «L’Exili» also has pretty shocked us. Miriam you have something different, go ahead and fearless.

Desfile Desigual "Man - Life Rider" - 03.02.15 21:00h

Quizá choca ver a Desigual aquí. Pues no. Estamos muy sorprendidas de lo ponible que es la colección de hombre «Life Rider» del próximo invierno -mucho más ponible que incluso la de mujer-, y nos encanta poder explicaros lo bien que lo pasamos en la que fue, sin duda, la pasarela más divertida de la 080. Y es que el lema #LaVidaEsChula de la marca cobra todo el sentido del mundo. Propuestas coloridas y alegres pero muy combinables: jerséis de jacquard de inspiración esquí, abrigos tweed, americanas desestructuradas, híbridos entre sastrería y sport, visten a un hombre aventurero, masculino, seguro de si mismo y auténtico.

Un desfile divertido, informal, fresco y original, encabezado por John Halls, ex-futbolista del Arsenal y actual imagen de la campaña, el bromista -y alma del desfile- Tony Ward, y los guapérimos Juan Betancourt, Andrés Velencoso y Oriol El Cacho, así que ya os imagináis que la temperatura de la pasarela subió, y mucho. La fiesta de luego se quedó en poquita cosa comparado con esto, es lo que tiene disfrutar de un desfile como lo hicimos. Lo que sí tenemos claro ahora, es que nuestros «colgados» vestirán de Desigual, y con bolsa incluida ;)

Perhaps seeing Desigual here is strange. Nope. We are very surprised about how wearable the next winter men’s collection «Life Rider» is, -much more wearable even than the women’s one-, and we love to explain you how much fun we had in which was undoubtedly the funniest 080 catwalk. And the #LaVidaEsChula brand slogan acquires all the sense in the world. Colorful and cheerful but very combinable proposals: skiing inspiration jacquard jumpers, tweed coats, unstructured blazers, hybrid between tailoring and sport dress an adventurer, masculine, sure of himself and authentic.

A fun, casual, fresh and original Fashion Show, led by John Halls, former Arsenal footballplayer and current image of the campaign, the funny -and the soul of the Fashion Show- Tony Ward, and the handsome Juan Betancourt, Andrés Velencoso and Oriol El Cacho, so think how the temperature rose, a lot. The party was nothing compared to this, that’s what happens when you enjoy a Fashion Show as we did. What we do have clear now is that our «hanging» will wear Desigual, and with bag included ;)

Y en cuanto a los pop-up stores, que ya sabéis que siempre hay un espacio para ellos, os traemos a nuestros 3 favoritos. ¡Tomad nota chic@s! Si queréis joyas especiales y espectaculares, y encima diseñadas en Barcelona, VSB es lo que buscáis. Si sois amantes de lo vintage y un poco bucólicas, los cuellos de encaje de Colette os enamorarán. Y si tenéis una boda a la vista, las coronas y tocados de Lito&Lola son un must.

And as for the pop-up stores, you already know that there is always a space for them, we bring our 3 favorites. Pay attention guys! If you want special and spectacular jewelry, and designed in Barcelona, VSB is what you are looking for. If you are vintage lovers and a little bit bucolic, you will fall in love with Colette‘s lace collars. And if you have a wedding in sight, Lito&Lola hairwreaths and headdresses are a must.

Esperamos que os guste el post de hoy y que podáis vivir al menos un poquito de lo que vivimos nosotras esos días. La verdad es que disfrutamos como unas enanas de desfile en desfile, la 080 es una semana intensa, un poco cansada, pero que merece muchísimo la pena vivir. Además es una fuente de inspiración genial, tanto por los estilismos de la pasarela como por el streetstyle que se junta en un espacio tan reducido, nosotras ya tenemos algunas ideas ;) ¡Besitos!

We hope you enjoy today’s post and that you live at least a little of what we lived those days. The truth is we enjoy as a child going from Fashion Show to Fashion Show, the 080 is an intense week, a little tiring but really worth living. It is also a source of great inspiration, both the styles from the catwalk as the streetstyle that comes together in such a small space, we already have some ideas ;) Kisses!
