El mundo al revés en la #080bcnfashion

La semana pasada tuvo lugar la 080, y las colgadas no quisimos perdernos nada de lo que pasara allí. Cada edición es especial, y esta vez, la Casa Llotja de Mar se convirtió en la primera excusa para ir. El enclave, precioso. El aforo, muy limitado. El backstage, labertíntico. Los pop-up stores han estado completamente de más y demasiado apartados. Y los desfiles, sorprendentemente, el mundo al revés.

Aquellos que esperábamos con ansias nos han dejado indiferentes. Y aquellos que no teníamos ni intención de ver, nos han sorprendido con creces. Entendemos que desfilar en pasarela es igual a ideas nuevas, no a más de lo mismo. Esta es la edición que demuestra que lo mediático no va siempre ligado a lo transgresor, y que lo viejo y antiguo no significa que sea carca. Esta 080 hemos aprendido que no se mantiene vivo aquel que da por supuesto que ya lo está haciendo bien y que parece importarle más el front row que la esencia de sus diseños, sinó aquel que sabe que hay que atreverse a evolucionar o morir en el intento.

Last week the 080 took place, and the hanging didn’t want to miss anything of what happened there. Each edition is special, and this time, the Casa Llotja de Mar became the first excuse to go. The setting, beautiful. The capacity, very limited. Backstage, like a maze. The pop-up stores have been completely left over and too far apart. And the fashion shows, surprisingly, the world upside down.

Those we look forward to have left us indifferent. And those we had no intention of seeing, have surprised us by far. We understand that to parade on a catwalk is equal to new ideas, not more of the same. This is the edition that demonstrates that media is not always linked to transgressor, and that old does not mean outdated. This 080 we have learned that those who assume that they are already doing well and seem to care more on the front row rather than in the essence of their designs don’t stay alive, but those who know they have to dare to evolve or die trying.

Desfile Escorpion "Ultramar" - 02.02.16 17:30h

Una grata sorpresa y unos ojos como platos nos dejó el desfile de Escorpion. Solamente las alfombras que recorrían la pasarela ya se dejaba entrever que lo que esperaba detrás del telón estaría a la altura. Fundada en 1929, Escorpion siempre ha tenido en mente encontrar la innovación en el punto, y esta vez su directora creativa, Sybille Horaist, con su colección Ultramar, lo han conseguido de verdad. Una mezcla pacífica entre dos culturas ajenas y distantes que se encuentran separadas y al mismo tiempo unidas por el océano. Aquello desconocido y aquello soñado. Esta mezcla entre el estilo marinero y el estilo hindú nos ha encantado. Y la música, increíble es poco. ¡Qué ganas de vestir así el invierno que viene! Enhorabuena porque nunca hubiésemos dicho que os daríamos el Top 1 de esta 080, y merecido lo tenéis. ¡A seguir trabajando duro!

A pleasantly surprise and wide eyes left Escorpion’s fashion show. Only the carpets that ran over the catwalk already hinted that waiting behind the curtain would be worthy of. Founded in 1929, Escorpion has always had in mind to find innovation in knit, and this time her creative director, Sybille Horaist, with her «Overseas» collection, has done really well. A peaceful cross between two unrelated and distant cultures that are separated while joined by the ocean. The unknown and the dreamed. We loved this mixture of the sailor style and the Indian style. And the music is just amazing. How we are willing to dress like this next Winter! Congratulations because we would have never said that we would give to you the Top 1 of the 080, and you have deserved it. Continue working hard!

Desfile VM by La Sibèria "Viatge" - 04.02.16 17:30h

Todos recordaréis esa tienda antigua de abrigos de visón «de la abuela» que está en Gran Vía esquina Rambla Catalunya: La pelleteria Sibèria, fundada en 1891. ¿Quién entraría allí? Apostamos a que nadie. Pues señoras y señores, el giro que le han dado a sus prendas Victòria y Marc, la 4ª generación, dará de qué hablar. En su colección «Viatge» han sabido darle nueva vida a sus abrigos, confeccionando capas, ponchos, faldas, chalecos, mini vestidos, y hasta un vestido de novia patchwork. Todo combinando pelo y punto de una forma cómoda pero sensual. Qué pena que en la ciudad condal no hace el frío de La Siberia para lucir (casi) todas sus propuestas. ¡Entran ganas de ir a skiar sólo para lucir sus modelitos après-ski!

All of you will remember that old store of «Grandma» fur coats at Gran Vía corner Rambla Catalunya: Pelleteria Sibèria, founded in 1891. Who would go there? We bet no one. Well ladies and gentlemen, the turn Victòria and Marc, the 4th generation, have given to their garments, will give food for thought. In their «Travel» collection they have managed to give new life to their coats, tailoring capes, ponchos, skirts, vests, mini dresses, and even a patchwork wedding gown. Matching fur and knit in a comfortable but sensual way. What a shame that in this city it’s not so cold as the Siberia to wear (almost) all their proposals. It feels like going skiing just to show off their après-ski outfits!

Desfile Sita Murt "Freedom's Mood" - 02.02.16 19:00h

Esperanzadas estamos de poder volver a ver la esencia de Sita Murt. En su colección «Freedom’s Mood» reviven los 70s de Ali McGraw, Peggy Lipton y las notas de Frank Zappa pero siempre con esa simplicidad urbana. Y un guiño a los LP para la prensa que nos encantó. En la colección, los maxi vestidos volátiles conviven con el punto y los jacquards. Los colores marrones cálidos, crudo y nude conviven con toques de rojo ultrafemenino. Atrás queda ese desfile oscuro y sobrio de FW15/16, en el que el alma de todos estaba triste por la pérdida de Sita. Estamos seguras de que allá dónde esté, está contenta de volver a ver como las prendas respiran de nuevo su esencia perdida.

Hopeful to be able to see again Sita Murt’s essence. In their collection «Freedom’s Mood» they revive Ali McGraw, Peggy Lipton and the notes of Frank Zappa in the 70s but always with this urban simplicity. And an LP for the press we loved. In the collection, the volatile maxi dresses coexist with knits and jacquards. The warm, raw and nude brown colors coexist with ultra-feminine touches of red. Gone is the dark and sober FW15/16 fashion show, in which all our souls were saddened by the loss of Sita. We are sure that wherever you are, you are glad to see your garments breathe again your lost essence.

Presentación y Cocktail Manolo Blahnik - 05.02.16 12:30h

Toda la ciudad estaba expectante a la llegada de Manolo Blahnik, Premio Nacional de diseño de Moda 2012 y fundador de una de las marcas de calzado más prestigiosas del mundo. Cuántas hemos visto la serie Sexo en Nueva York y cuántas hemos querido ser Carrie Bradshow subidas encima de unos «manolos». Sólo unos pocos pudieron presenciar la presentación de su último libro «Manolo Blahnik: Fleeting Gestures and Obsessions» y posterior cocktail en la clausura de la 080. Desde aquí queremos dar las gracias a La Roca Village por dejarnos ser partícipes de ello. Nos encanta que se premien a figuras del mundo de la moda tan relevantes como Blahnik, y nos encanta todavía más que genios de la creatividad y del diseño de moda cómo él sigan manteniendo como seña de identidad ser almas libres. Almas libres que no están atadas a ninguna marca, a ningunas órdenes, a ningún sueldo. Todo lo que vuela libre llega lejos. Todo lo que otros capan con condiciones, no.

The whole city was waiting for the arrival of Manolo Blahnik, National Fashion Design Award 2012 and founder of one of the most prestigious footwear brands in the world. Many have seen the series Sex in The City and how we wanted to be Carrie Bradshaw on top of some «Manolos». Only a few were able to witness the presentation of his latest book «Manolo Blahnik: Fleeting Gestures and Obsessions» and subsequent cocktail at the 080 closure. We would like to thank La Roca Village for allowing us to take part of it. We love to be rewarded with figures from the world of fashion as relevant as Blahnik, and we love even more than geniuses of creativity and fashion design continue to maintain as a hallmark being free souls. Free souls who are not tied to any brand, to any orders, to any salary. Everything that flies freely goes far. All that others castrate with conditions, no.
